Not a camera backpack.

A spine-centred creator workstation — designed from review evidence outward, not from a silhouette inward. What exists is a CAD blockout under review: evidence 40% verified, 60% source-pending.

CLX-CT-01 axonometric, schematicFlat-colour axonometric seen from the back right: a 480 by 285 mm envelope tapering from 180 to 150 mm deep. The flat back datum plane is tinted green with the 36 mm spine channel and four pads; the orange camera core shows through the shell and, unfiltered, through the side hatch opening on +X, where an amber retention-gate placeholder sits at the hatch mouth (position schematic). The laptop tunnel and the cassette are dashed because they are cued, not validated. Positions are schematic.

02 · Question

Designed from review evidence outward, not from a silhouette inward.

The category default is a soft, top-loading camera bag that treats the laptop, audio kit and cables as afterthoughts stuffed around the camera core. CLX-CT-01 inverts that: the load is organised around the spine first, with protected rapid access and independent compartments designed as primary structure rather than as pockets. The chain is traceable — review mining, complaint clusters, requirements, eight modules, form, CAD blockout — and the evidence is reported plainly.

03 · Mechanism

Build the blockout in ten steps.

Datums first, then volumes back to front, then cuts and placeholders last. Step through the modelling plan; the taper is drawn live, and the side hatch swings while the amber gate stays.

Schematic from the CAD modelling plan (Phase 08) — not a render · side, axonometric and plan section drawn to the blockout start dimensions in mm · positions schematic

S10 · 4 harness mount points · rear face · placeholders

  1. 01Set flat back datum planeThe master reference: a vertical plane, 480 mm tall × 285 mm wide — the frame-sheet face and harness mount surface. It never curves.Depends · World origin
  2. 02Build outer tapered envelopeExtrude the body forward from the back plane with the V2 taper, 180 → 150 mm. The back edge stays flat and vertical; the taper happens on the front face only.Depends · Step 1 plane
  3. 03Add laptop tunnel slab inboard of the coreA thin vertical slab immediately in front of the back plane: 28 mm deep, 390–420 mm usable inside the 480 mm body. The core never touches the back directly.Depends · Back plane, step 1
  4. 04Add camera core volumeThe dominant volume, 290 H × 190 W × 130 D, biased toward the spine with its back face against the tunnel. The heaviest mass.Depends · Tunnel front face, step 3
  5. 05Cut side hatch openingCut the 230 × 120 mm hatch bounding box on the +X side — the protected rapid-access opening, placed so it never conflicts with the dock.Depends · Core, step 4
  6. 06Add retention gate placeholderA thin curved panel at the mouth of the hatch. Blockout only — it represents position and swing, not mechanism, and holds remaining gear during partial opening.Depends · Hatch cut, step 5
  7. 07Add cassette volumeThe removable cable / audio cassette, 200 × 120 × 40 mm, in the front-mid zone below the hatch reach. It must lift out without intruding on the core access path.Depends · Core front face, step 4
  8. 08Add tripod dock channelA 40 mm vertical channel on the −X exterior, with a lower anchor cup and an upper strap position — clear of the hatch on the other side. That separation is the point.Depends · Envelope, step 2
  9. 09Add spine channel and back padsThe central 36 mm recessed spine channel, flanked by symmetric ventilation pads. Crisp edges — the architectural signature line, not soft padding.Depends · Back plane, step 1
  10. 10Add placeholder harness mount pointsFour mount points on the rear of the back plane, two upper and two lower. The harness itself is not modelled — only its attachment datum.Depends · Back plane, step 1

Sizes are the blockout's starting point, not its specification. Positions are schematic; the hatch hinge side is not specified, so its swing is drawn for illustration only. Designed · modelling plan, not final

R = frozen requirement Specified intent · T = provisional target, carries a “pending” flag Pending — the T01–T05 namespace was introduced to resolve a duplicate-ID conflict (R12–R16), a fix to traceability, not cosmetics. R16 is quoted from the earlier June triplet; R12–R16 were later re-namespaced, so its current ID is unconfirmed. The Modules column is this sheet’s reading of each system answer, not a mapping stated in the source.

The taper runs from 180 mm at the lower / mid body to 150 mm at the shoulder, pulling mass toward the wearer's centre of gravity; corners soften at R22. The modelling plan words the taper back-to-front; these drawings follow the case page.

Blockout version log

  1. V2.8First assembled lock · undersized envelope, no taper, hatch on the front faceSuperseded
  2. V2.8BSpec-locked envelope + true taper · hatch moved to +X · all pillars cuedSuperseded
  3. V2.xCorrected upright blockout · taper reads in render · matches the baseline envelope in scriptCurrent review state
  4. V2.1Next refinement pass — flush hatch, recessed dock, softer backpack massing, clean off-object labelsPending

Version glyphs are illustrative side profiles, not renders.

V2.x review · matches spec in script

  • Envelope 480 × 285 × 180→150 built as a true tapered mesh
  • Depth taper present in geometry; reads in the side render
  • Hatch on +X · recess dimensioned 230 × 120
  • Spine channel 36 mm in script
  • Upright, Z-up, single assembled mass
  • Tripod dock, bands, contact pads, handle attached

V2.x review · flagged / open

  • Front cues dropped → clean service mark only (intentional; now documented)
  • M05 / M06 cued as surface relief, not validated as sealed volumes
  • Hero render at 64 mm exaggerates verticality — switch to 35–40 mm
  • Flat accessory boxes meet angled taper faces — check top-edge fit
  • Proportions still read tall / narrow vs spec — needs the V2.1 pass

Read from the generating script and cross-checked against viewport renders: a visual / code review of a blockout, not engineering validation.

05 · Pigment & material

Colour is module code, not a colourway.

Five authored colours carry meaning in the June 2026 drawings and badges. There is no CMF yet: the V2.1 pass asks for “subtle module colours”, with no final fabric or straps.
