Axonometric of the CLX-CT-01 CAD blockout, seen from behind and from the hatch side: a tapered envelope 480 mm tall, 285 mm wide and 180 mm deep at the base, 150 mm at the top, with coded volumes for the back datum and back panel, camera core, side hatch and retention gate, laptop tunnel and cassette (placeholder volumes), tripod dock, harness mount points and outer shell; blockout start dimensions, positions schematic.
01 — The product in 10 secondsCLX-CT-01

Not a camera backpack.

What it is
A 480 × 285 mm tapered carry system for creators, built around a camera core, a side hatch, a laptop tunnel and a tripod dock.
Who it is for
Creators who carry a camera, a laptop, audio kit and a tripod, and need fast access.
The problem
Camera bags trade protection against access: protected ones are slow to open, quick-access ones spill.
What is different
The load sits against the spine, and every module traces back to a requirement drawn from customer reviews — 8 of 20 review findings traced to their source so far.

02 — The design challenge

Designed from review evidence outward, not from a silhouette inward.

The category default is a soft, top-loading camera bag that treats the laptop, audio kit and cables as afterthoughts around the camera core. One trade-off converged across all four products surveyed — weight against protection and access — and it is the only finding strong enough to act on.

The decisions that shaped it.

Decision 01

A spine-centred load zone

The heavy camera core sits against a 28 mm laptop tunnel on the flat back datum; a semi-rigid frame holds the geometry.

Decision 02

One protected side hatch

A 230 × 120 mm hatch on one side reaches the body and an attached lens without a full opening; an anti-spill gate holds the rest.

Decision 03

Paths that never cross

An independent laptop tunnel, a removable cassette and a tripod dock on the side opposite the hatch, so access paths stay separate.

Specified intent · placeholder volumes

How it is built.

A CAD blockout and a ten-step modelling plan, not an engineering check. Sizes are the blockout’s starting point, not its specification; positions are schematic.

Engineering notes the longer story

The object is the load path. A flat back datum, a laptop tunnel, a camera core behind a side hatch, a retention gate and a tripod dock — each module carries the requirement IDs that justify it.

8 of 20 customer-review findings are source-verified and 12 are pending; the laptop tunnel and cassette are placeholder volumes, not yet resolved.

Design study
Stage
Design studyOne question taken deep — a mechanism, an interface, a form or a colour system — in CAD or drawings. Not a complete product.
What exists
Review evidence (8 of 20 findings verified), requirements, an 8-module architecture and a CAD blockout under review.
Physical evidence
None.
Not claimed
  • Product renders — none exist yet
  • CMF, fabric or weather performance
  • Load or comfort performance
Still open
  • Next refinement: flush hatch, recessed dock, softer massing.
  • Laptop tunnel and cassette are placeholder volumes, not yet proven as sealed volumes.
  • 12 of 20 review findings still source-pending.
