ABAN

My original fragrance flacon and coffret, rebuilt at real size as a 30 ml extrait: measured glass walls, a ground stopper, a fill line and a holder the bottle sits in.

Ruby glass, gold swirl emblem, a jewelled crystal stopper with gold inlays — the original red edition.

01 — The product in 10 secondsABAN

The Divine Essence of Persia

What it is
A bell-shaped flacon with a gold swirl emblem and a jewelled stopper, presented in velvet coffrets across four editions.
Who it is for
Premium fragrance buyers who value the flacon and coffret as lasting display objects.
The problem
The original model had open glass surfaces, no neck and a bottle passing through its holder — and it was drawn about 2.5 times too small.
What is different
One scale factor (×2.505), set by the thinnest wall reaching 2 mm. The shallow neck made it a splash extrait with a ground stopper, not a spray.

02 — The design challenge

Too small to fill, too open to hold.

At its drawn size the flacon held 2.28 ml, its glass had no thickness and the bottle passed straight through its holder. The 2026 model finds one scale that makes every wall real and keeps the proportions.

The decisions that shaped it.

Decision 01

One scale for everything

Flacon, stopper and coffret scale together by ×2.505, set by the thinnest wall reaching 2.0 mm.

Decision 02

A splash extrait, not a spray

The neck land is only 13.9 mm deep — less than a 15 mm spray ferrule needs — so the cap became a ground stopper.

Decision 03

Glass with real walls

The glass solid is the outer skin minus the inner skin, pushed out to 2.1 mm wherever the body was thinner (sampled; the neck wall is 1.81 mm): 33.2 ml brimful for a 30 ml fill.

Decision 04

A holder the bottle sits in

The holder is raised onto the stand and pocketed for the bottle with 0.40 mm clearance.

How it is built.

CAD-developed glass and coffret geometry. Wall distribution depends on the glass process, which is not chosen; every figure describes the model.

Engineering notes the longer story

ABAN was a bell-shaped flacon with a gold swirl emblem and an ornate stopper, presented in velvet coffrets in four editions. The original model had open glass surfaces, no neck, and a bottle passing straight through its holder.

The 2026 model uses one scale factor for flacon, stopper and coffret (×2.505), set by the thinnest wall reaching 2.0 mm. At the neck the bell is too shallow for a spray ferrule, so it became a splash extrait with a ground stopper — the proportions stay mine.
